About the role
This position leads and manages the Collins Class Submarine Training Services Contract, ensuring the successful delivery and promotion of innovative specialist training services.
It provides strategic leadership to SM TAFE personnel and oversees all human, financial and physical resources of the contract, including performance management and professional development of team members. Alongside project leadership the role drives the design and development of high-quality curriculum that is tailored to client and industry needs.
The role works closely with subject matter experts to produce engaging facilitation and learning materials that reflect current best practice. The position applies contemporary learning principles and emerging technologies to deliver innovative programs while maintaining a strong focus on continuous improvement and client outcomes.
We are seeking a candidate with strong experience in designing training programs using instructional systems design principles, supported by well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will demonstrate the capability to develop, implement, and manage project plans and training strategies effectively.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens and eligible to obtain a Defence Security Authority clearance. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or near completion) is required.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must also meet specific physical requirements. These include the ability to enter, move through, and exit a Collins Class Submarine; climb ladders up to ten metres; stand within a motion simulator; and work in a red‑light environment.
