**The Role**
An opportunity for an APS6 Project Support Officer exists within one of Defence's high priority areas in the Maritime Explosive Ordnance System Program Office (MEOSPO).
As an APS6 Project Support Officer, you will support the achievement of complex financial management work within an integrated workforce to help accelerate capability acquisition and sustainment activities within the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise.
You will provide reliable professional advice and outcomes, utilising the associated people and financial responsibilities, and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
Every day will be different as you embrace opportunities to:
- Manage financial support, contribute to budget preparation and financial performance monitoring and reporting for a range of guided weapons and munitions.
- Support the coordination of financial governance requirements and promote compliance to financial management frameworks.
- Use knowledge and experience of financial management to provide advice on Defence and government financial matters.
- Provide project support in the design and recommendation of solutions to financial management issues.
You will also have the opportunity to further your career through a comprehensive professionalisation program.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are an integral aspect of this role. You must be able to network/communicate at all levels including engaging with outside organisations to achieve MEOSPO objectives.
International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) is the United States regulation that controls the manufacture, sale and distribution of Defence and space related articles and services. The ITAR contains a list of "restricted" countries that are unable to access ITAR controlled information, and therefore we will need to know if an applicant holds dual citizenship to one of the restricted countries to ensure they meet the requirement to perform the role (and we do not breach any ITAR requirements.

MEOSPO is an integral part of GWEO Maritime Branch, which is part of the Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance System Division. Our team consists of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). We are located in Canberra, Penrith, Amberley, Melbourne and Stirling, and our focus is to acquire and sustain guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.
