Position Title: Assistant Store Manager
Classification: General Retail Award – Level 4
Department: Gladstone Family Store
Employment Status: Casual
Store Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 3.00 pm, Saturdays 8.00 am to 1.00 pm
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Family Store, including retail, recycling, and administrative tasks, in alignment with The Salvation Army's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support day-to-day store operations, ensuring efficient functioning in all areas including retail floor setup, stock rotation, pricing, cleanliness, point of sale operations, and customer service.
- Open and close the store as required, including balancing cash registers and end-of-day procedures.
- Assist with the effective marketing and merchandising of stock, ensuring items are well-presented and the store remains organised and inviting.
- Maintain smooth and uninterrupted store operations when acting as the Store Manager in their absence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail and/or customer service.
- Experience in mentoring or training staff, or the demonstrated ability to do so.
- A current and valid driver’s licence
- Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Sufficient physical fitness to perform the manual aspects of the role.
