The Opportunity
The Finance Officer will provide financial support through the delivery of a range of duties and responsibilities. They will ensure accurate and timely processing of all debtor transactions, maintain cash flow records and provide assistance with general accounting, payroll and administration duties.
The position will report to the Financial Accountant and will interact with a range of external stakeholders including customers, debtors and banking personnel.
Position Responsibilities
End to end accounts receivable processing and coordination for the group.
Ensure fortnightly payroll preparation on time including data validation, pay calculation, and adherence to regulatory compliance.
Process, reconcile and allocate all banking transactions.
Maintain and reconcile all e-commerce payments and invoicing.
Respond to customer debtor queries in a timely and professional manner.
Follow-up outstanding and overdue accounts and report in accordance with credit policy.
Prepare annual doubtful and bad debt schedules by debtor group.
Provide general accounting and analytical support to the Financial Accountant.
Prepare purchase orders for inventory items and other items, as required.
Maintain contact with suppliers to ensure purchase orders are fulfilled.
Maintain appropriate office files and archived records.
Prepare and reconcile monthly customer reports for distribution as required.
Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, as required.
About You
Minimum 3 years' experience working in a similar position.
Qualifications in finance, accounting or bookkeeping.
Strong system and computer knowledge including advanced.
Experience working with ERP systems and knowledge of General Ledger account structures.
A valid NDIS Worker check.
Experience with debtors' collections and account establishment.
Experienced in managing accounts receivable and creditor accounts, including processing, reconciliations, and account management.
Experience with payroll processing systems.
Possess intermediate to advanced Excel skills and intermediate Word skills.
Highly accurate data entry skills and strong attention to detail.
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a team and open office environment.
Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Self-motivated and energetic.
Sound time-management skills with the flexibility to juggle the simultaneous demands of several internal customers, often needing to switch quickly between different issues.
Experience within the NDIS, SIL, SDA, or community services sector is desirable along with NDIS clearance, police clearance and a valid working with children check or willingness to apply.
