About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Family Support Worker to plan and implement community development programs responding to needs of children and their families in the East Lake Macquarie area.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, part time (12 hours per week) position based in Belmont North, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.
You will successfully- Plan, implement, and evaluate community development and engagement activities that meet identified needs.- Source and facilitate parenting 'Life Skills' workshops, events, learning modules and weekly parenting support groups at Eastlakes Corps.- Coordinate the family outreach support program, where vulnerable families are visited in their homes.- Identify Risks to clients, personnel and TSA and address or escalate them to relevant parties.- Source funding opportunities and manage partnerships to ensure viability and sustainability of the Corps and its programs.- Engage in The Salvation Local Mission Delivery by attending Mission team meetings and contributing to Local Mission Plan for the Corps.
You will have- A NSW Working with Children Check.- A relevant tertiary qualification, at degree level with experience; or diploma level with substantial experience in community services or social work; or less formal qualifications with specialised skills sufficient to perform at this level.- Well-developed communication skills and confidence in public speaking.- Demonstrated experience in facilitating community-based activities.- Experience managing volunteers or employees.
