Key Responsibilities & Duties
Be an ambassador of Bendigo Heritage.
Provide exceptional customer service, greeting worshippers and visitors warmly, and addressing questions professionally.
Lead informative and engaging tours tailored to suit diverse audiences and kept on schedule.
Present accurate and compelling information by staying updated on the history and significance of the Bendigo Joss House Temple, Chinese Culture and the City of Greater Bendigo.
Ensure a safe environment by maintaining awareness of visitors on your tour and complying with OH&S requirements, Bendigo Heritage Policies and Procedures.
Assist in maintaining and presenting the building and grounds in a professional, inviting and culturally sensitive manner.
Present with a clean, tidy, and professional appearance.
Other duties within training and competencies as required.
Skills and Attributes / Selection Criteria
Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly and confidently convey information, with a proficiency in storytelling and engaging visitors.
Excellent customer service skills: Friendly and approachable demeanour, effectively conversing with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals of all ages and abilities.
Ability to follow procedures accurately, effectively, and efficiently.
Excellent knowledge and/or willingness to learn about Bendigo's history, attractions and heritage assets, including a genuine interest in Bendigo's Chinese heritage.
Ability to work without supervision, to keep calm and work under pressure in varying conditions with time constraints.
Reliable and punctual.
Good time management skills.
Uniform and Dress Code
Uniform and PPE are provided.
All clothing and equipment provided should be maintained in good order and will be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis.
