The Queensland Police-Citizens Youth Welfare Association (QPCYWA) is a community-based organisation concerned with the development of youth through the provision of sporting and recreational activities.
One of the many programs PCYC Queensland delivers is the Braking the Cycle program, a learner-mentor driving program that aims to provide young people with increased employment opportunities, community connection and road safety education.
We support learner drivers without access to a supervisor or registered vehicle to complete their logbook hours.
Our mentors are critical to the success of the program and act as positive adult role models as well as driving supervisors.
Program Details Category: Young People Commitment: Regular – more than 6 months Time Required: 1–4 hours per week, adaptable around your schedule Training: Training will be provided Responsibilities Supervise and mentor learner drivers during driving sessions to help them complete logbook requirements.
Provide a secure and supportive learning environment.
Collaborate with learners to establish a practical driving schedule that fits their needs and yours.
Qualifications & Requirements Open Driver's Licence held for a minimum of 12 months.
Valuable traffic history.
Ability to apply for or hold a Blue Card.
Support & Resources Training on the role will be provided.
PCYC Queensland supplies a vehicle and insurance for conducting driving sessions.
