**The Role**
Are you are interested in being involved with cutting edge military aircraft, flight test activities, and providing specialist aircraft engineering advice? If so, then this is the job for you.
This position offers a wide variety of challenging and rewarding tasks as well as the rare opportunity to be involved in supporting Army, Navy and Air Force flight trials through the Air Warfare Engineering Squadron (AWE SQN).
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with world leaders in the electromagnetic engineering field, including the Defence Science and Technology Group, United States Navy and specialist contractor organisations.
Applicants that demonstrate the personal attributes to effectively communicate and work harmoniously with diverse stakeholder groups may be considered suitable to participate in potential future embedded postings of 2-3 years with co-operative partners in the United States prior to returning to AWE SQN in Adelaide, Australia.

As the Electromagnetic Test & Evaluation Technician within AWE SQN you will be part of a small team of specialists to deliver the following:
- Identify and implement emergent technologies to expand the Electromagnetic Test Section's (EMTS) capabilities to address emerging Defence requirements.
- Assist to maintain the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accreditation for the facility.
- Provide support to internal and external tasking for Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility testing.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of partnerships with domestic and international electromagnetic test specialists.
- Promote strong stakeholder relationships with Air Force, Defence Science and Technology group and industry partners,
- Ensure that suitable hardware and software systems are available for execution of electromagnetic test
- Maintain proficiency as a Defence recognised Radio Frequency Radiation Safety Officer.
- Develop and review electromagnetic compatibility test reports.
- Perform test and evaluation activities within the Electromagnetic Test Chamber.
- Develop, analyse and employ models and simulations to inform electromagnetic interference and compatibility engineering outcomes.
