Overview
As part of our team's rapid and organic growth, we are looking for an experienced, highly skilled and motivated Associate and Senior Associate to join our dynamic and collaborative Employment & Incentives team in Sydney. As part of a global team, you will work closely with partners, senior and junior team members to provide expert and practical legal advice and representation on workplace‐related matters, both litigious and transactional, and advise our clients to manage employment, industrial and safety risks.
Responsibilities
* Advise clients on all aspects of employment, industrial relations, discrimination, including employment contracts and workplace policies
* Manage disputes and litigation in courts and tribunals
* Manage and advise on significant underpayment and other employment compliance reviews and regulatory matters
* Assist clients with enterprise bargaining and managing industrial disputes
* Advise on restructuring and the employment aspects of corporate transactions
* Advise on compliance and response to critical incidents
* Conduct or advise on workplace investigations and employment audits
* Contribute to the development of the practice's client base and contacts
* Supervise and mentor junior members of the team
Qualifications
* Australian‐qualified lawyer
* Four to eight years post‐qualification experience gained in private practice
* Demonstrated experience in employment law
* Strong organisational skills, capable of assimilating information quickly and handling multiple priorities within tight timeframes
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences (both internal and external)
* Collegiate and collaborative, with the ability to lead, mentor and support other team members
* Commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development
* Enjoy working in a fast‐paced, high‐performing team
