We are nearing completion of the building phase of a brand-new facility in Smeaton Grange, South-West Sydney.Career opportunities are available as part of the first team to help install new machines and run our first batches.The Production Operator will report directly to the Production Manager and is responsible for operating and maintaining the uptime of the machines. As manufacturing scales and we continue to expand our Production team, there are growth opportunities for motivated high achievers.This is an on-site role in Smeaton Grange. The salary will be negotiated within the posted range based on experience and seniority.The ResponsibilitiesHelp build the Exergy facility and machinery system;Install, operate, clean, and maintain/service/fix equipment and machinery;Ensure all qualifications and maintenance activities for the facility and equipment are completed before production begins;Participate in the quality strategy for manufacturing and equipment to ensure high-quality products;Ensure all products are dispensed, manufactured, and packaged according to specifications and production schedules;Accurately record BMRs (batch manufacturing records), BPRs (batch packaging records), and related documentation in a timely manner;Ensure adherence to safety and cGMP protocols by all production operators;Identify and implement improvements to enhance production engagement, efficiency, capability, and capacity after discussion with the Production Manager;Promptly escalate any issues identified during manufacturing to the Production Manager;Participate in machinery and building maintenance, repairs, and services;Assist in sourcing machine parts, equipment, and consumables, communicating with suppliers and external contractors as needed;Participate in inspections and maintenance of building facilities, compressed air systems, wastewater systems, HVAC, and dust extraction systems;Maintain and control inventory of tools, parts, or as assigned;Prepare for and participate in audit events;Contribute to the Preventive Maintenance Program;Assist in overseeing external contractor work;Support project management tasks as assigned.The Technical Skills and RequirementsTertiary qualifications in Engineering, Process Engineering, Science, or equivalent;Experience in clean room manufacturing;Ideally five (5) years experience as a machine operator in pharmaceutical or complementary medicine manufacturing;Knowledge of cGMP and PIC/s standards;Physical requirements:Ability to lift up to 25kg repeatedly;Good vision (natural or corrected);Ability to stand/walk for long periods;Ability to stoop, kneel/squat, and safely climb ladders;Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen with the right to work in Australia;Experience as a supervisor or team leader of machine operators is a plus.The Core Competency RequirementsProblem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and resolve issues swiftly;Strong interpersonal, teamwork, management, time management, and organizational skills;Effective verbal and written communication skills;Confidence and experience in using tools, with a steady and calm demeanor.*Please no recruiters or agencies.
