The DCCEEW Planning, Offsets and Threatened Species (POTSE) Division is currently seeking to appoint a Project Officer. The Project Officer will support POTSE Division by assisting in the coordination and delivery of regional conservation programs through engaging and supporting landholders to enter into voluntary biodiversity stewardship agreements. About You You are a qualified ecologist with experience in conducting ecological field surveys and a sound understanding of the Biodiversity Assessment Method. You thrive in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments and have a proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, from landholders to government agencies, to achieve positive conservation outcomes. Key knowledge and experience Experience in implementing ecological field surveys. Knowledge of the requirements of the Biodiversity Assessment Method. Sound demonstrated knowledge of the operational and strategic requirements for the successful delivery of programs in the context of current policy and legislative frameworks. Essential requirements Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in science, ecology, in a similar environment. Current Driver's License. Willing and able to assist with ecological fieldwork in remote field locations. Biodiversity Assessment Method accreditation would be beneficial.
