**Your new role**
The manager
- Stock Horses will be responsible for the overall coordination and care of the precincts Young Horses & Yearlings. Working closely with the Head Veterinarian and Animal Nurse Manager, you will ensure the smooth operation of all tasks relating to breeding & care. These duties will flow across both stockhorses and client horses, whilst instilling the culture and values to all members of the precinct, providing leadership and encouragement. Your main duties will spread across 3 main areas of Horses, Leadership & Agriculture. Precinct

Horses
- Provide and organise logístical placement of horses trained by external trainers, movement of mares and surrogates from breeding facilities and clients, transportation of clients to alternate locations
- Relocation of mares and foals around the property as required and retrieval of mares and foals for breeding/ scanning. Assistance with the breeding program as directed by Veterinarian and Veterinarian Nursing Manager.
- Liaise on a regular basis with Executive Chairman, General Manager, Veterinarian and Veterinarian Nurse Manager and other internal/external stakeholders on preparation for the sale of horses.
- Monitor the conditions of the horses and ensure that all they are in healthy and excellent condition.
- Assistance with recipient mares when and where re-training is required.

Leadership
- Training and supervision of junior staff in the handling of all horses; junior staff members shadowing you frequently to aid in this education and assist the development and growth of team member upskilling.
- Show initiative and seek tasks, show leadership and give junior staff direction and feedback. Share knowledge and expertise with all equine staff.
- Assist the events team with events and any other adhoc requirement as directed by management.

Agriculture
- Developing and rehabilitating degraded country that is fenced off into quality pasture.
- Roads & tracks are to be serviceable for appropriate use and vehicles; report any damage, obstacles or deterioration when observed.
- Tractor work such as unloading hay and other equipment.
- Weed spraying and paddock mulching/ fertilising

- Be a self-starter with a high level of integrity

- Previous exposure within the agriculture sector
- Excellent personal presentation & communication skills
