About the position
A Level B with a teaching focused appointment is expected to develop and deliver curriculum and teach and support students in their learning.
In addition, a teaching focused academic will support the administrative functions of the discipline of podiatry and undertake scholarly work relevant to the development of their discipline or professional field.
This position sits within the Discipline of Podiatry in the Department of Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Prosthetics and Orthotics.
The Discipline of Podiatry offers a fully accredited, four year Bachelor of Podiatry (Hons) degree and graduates leave with a recognised endorsement to prescribe scheduled medicines.
Skills and Experience
Apply an evidence based approach to teaching and learning to support delivery of a high quality curriculum.
Develop, coordinate and teach subjects, using online, blended, or face to face modes, providing a high quality student experience.
Develop and implement teaching improvement strategies at a subject and course level.
Provide constructive, fair and timely feedback on learning to students.
Demonstrate a scholarly approach to learning and teaching by contributing to La Trobe's Scholarship of Learning and Teaching, including sharing of good practice.
With mentoring and support, as appropriate, obtain funding from internal or external sources for teaching improvement projects.
Contribute to knowledge transfer and to building relationships at a local level.
Undertake other duties and administrative functions commensurate with the classification and scope of the position as required by the Discipline Lead, Head of Department or Head of School.
A degree qualification in podiatry (Bachelor, Masters or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience in teaching with the flexibility and foundational knowledge to teach across a broad range of subjects.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to achieve shared goals.
Ability to produce outputs related to the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching.
