We invest deeply in our people through meaningful work, leadership development, and opportunities to grow alongside our technology and customers. Together, we are building a world‑class manufacturing capability — and we’re just getting started.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineering Lead to provide technical and people leadership within our Production team. This is a hands‑on role that balances strategic improvement with day‑to‑day operational leadership in a high‑reliability manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Production Operations Manager, you will lead and develop the Production Engineering function, supporting our ambition to create a world‑class manufacturing facility and an industry‑leading contract manufacturing service. Success in this role comes from strong technical judgement, a people‑first leadership approach, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while maintaining uncompromising standards of safety and quality.

You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams across design, manufacturing, quality, and operations, playing a critical role in enabling scalable, robust production outcomes from new product introduction through to full‑rate manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, support, and develop the Production Engineering team of 3 people.

* Make timely go / no‑go decisions on production engineering issues, escalating where appropriate.

* Drive lean manufacturing strategies and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.

* Resolve production non‑conformances (NCRs), including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

* Review and close production issues (SRs) and change requests (CRs) generated by Production Engineering.

* Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI / APQP) activities.

* Propose, select and commission manufacturing equipment and establish effective maintenance and asset management practices.

* Lead technical investigations relating to manufacturing processes and equipment.

* Assign competency levels, ensure required training is completed, and develop training content aligned to operational needs.

* Report on Production Engineering KPIs and contribute to production planning and operational decision‑making.

* Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements, IntelliDesign’s Management System, and relevant statutory and regulatory obligations.

What We’re Looking For

* 5+ years’ experience in production or manufacturing engineering within a regulated or high‑reliability environment.

* Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring, performance development, and accountability for outcomes.

* Strong hands‑on capability in production support, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting, and process optimisation.

* Proven experience resolving non‑conformances using structured root cause analysis methodologies.

* Experience working within ISO‑certified quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS 9100, ISO 13485 or similar).

* Experience leading or supporting New Product Introduction and industrialisation activities, including DFM principles.

* Strong manufacturing engineering fundamentals with practical fault‑finding skills.

* Confident decision‑maker able to manage competing priorities and lead cross‑functional collaboration.

* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent industry experience). Lean / Continuous Improvement or WH&S training is advantageous.

* Alignment with IntelliDesign’s values of Innovation, Quality and Together.

What We Offer

* Competitive salary package

* Full‑time, permanent opportunity

* A collaborative, inclusive culture where leadership and technical excellence are valued

* Flexible start and finish times

* Individual and team recognition programs

* Ongoing professional development and leadership growth opportunities

* Monthly team events and IntelliUpdates
