About the role
MUFG Pension & Market Services is seeking an experienced Senior Risk & Compliance Analyst to join our second line Risk & Governance team. This is a newly created senior role, introduced to strengthen oversight, uplift capability across the team, and provide hands-on expertise in risk, governance, and compliance activities.
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, supporting regulated clients within the registry services side of the business. You will provide guidance and mentoring to Risk Analysts (without formal people management), contribute to high-quality risk reporting and control assurance, and help embed strong risk management practices across the organisation.
This role is ideal for someone with solid financial services risk experience who is ready to step into a senior, influential role and make an immediate impact.
Key responsibilities
* Provide expert support and oversight across BAU risk and compliance activities (2nd line of defence)
* Prepare, analyse, and interpret risk and compliance reporting, identifying trends, insights, and actions
* Support governance, control assurance, risk events, complaints analysis, and remediation activities
* Act as a subject matter expert on risk frameworks, controls, and regulatory obligations
* Use data to drive insights and improve reporting quality and decision-making
* Support and uplift the capability of Risk Analysts through guidance, mentoring, and quality review
* Partner with stakeholders across the business to embed risk awareness and strengthen governance practices
About you
* Approximately 5 plus years' experience in financial services, ideally within superannuation
* Background in risk management, governance, control assurance, and/or risk events
* Strong working knowledge of risk frameworks and second line risk practices
* Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly
* Strong Excel skills (essential); Power BI experience desirable
* Experience with risk, governance, or compliance systems is beneficial (but not essential)
* Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
* Demonstrated ability to guide, mentor, and uplift others without formal people leadership
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment
