**About the role**:
- Correctional Officers in Correctional Centres are usually classified as shift workers and can work any 5 days in a week including weekends and public holidays.
- Provide safety, security, welfare and rehabilitation of inmates/offenders.
- Conducting daily searches and musters.
- Locate and remove illegal and restricted substances whilst undertaking searches.
- Manage inmates of all classifications.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and security at all times.
- Undertake all custody related administrative duties.
- Maintain confidentiality

- Certificate III in Correctional Practice in the following 12 months
**Requirements of the role**:
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Current driver's license
- Australia or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Willing and able to work irregular shift patterns/hours of work (shifts up to 8 hours, 7 days a week).
- Be available to work at short notice (calls for casual work are after 5pm for work on the following day).
- Available to work at short notice
- Meet the minimum medical standards and be of a reasonable fitness level
- Have foundational computer skills
- No visible inappropriate or offensive tattoos
