About the Health Centre
Larrakeyah Health Centre is located at the Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin City. The Larrakeyah Defence Precinct is a unique tri‐service Defence base directly supporting ADF operations & training. It is the home port of HMAS Coonawarra for Navy Patrol Boats and two Army Landing Craft. The facility serves a routine dependency of 1,100 personnel with surges every three months to conduct pre‐ and post‐deployment medicals. The health centre provides primary medical, nursing, mental health, dental, physiotherapy and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday, depending on role requirements.
What You'll Do
* Be involved in varied musculoskeletal conditions, including sports injuries, post‐operative (e.g., ACL reconstruction, shoulder reconstruction), loading injuries (e.g., bone stress, shoulder pain, knee pain) and pelvic health, concussion (if within scope).
* Support members in progressing toward deployment and ADF training exercises.
* Have access to a fully equipped gym to enhance the rehabilitation of members.
* Work with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries focused on functional rehabilitation and returning members to their work and exercise goals.
* Work with an active population motivated to achieve their best possible functional outcomes.
* Have dedicated time for administrative tasks each day.
* Collaborate within a multi‐disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, psychologists, and rehabilitation consultants.
* Improve your understanding of job roles and requirements of the ADF with the opportunity of working closely with ADF members.
What You Bring
* At least 2 years' part‐time or full‐time equivalent post‐graduate musculoskeletal experience within the last 5 years.
* Current, unconditional registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA.
* Recent engagement in Continuing Professional Development activities aligned with AHPRA guidelines.
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID009).
* Membership with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (preferred).
* Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance.
