* Full time role working 38 hours per week

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join The Trustee for Pentaline Trading Family (PTL Mechanical). The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver who enjoys diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical problems in light vehicles and machinery, patient, persistent, and committed to delivering high-quality work with a strong willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
Responsibilities
* Diagnoses faults and repairs engine systems, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems in light vehicles.
* Uses diagnostic equipment and computer-based tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
* Replaces worn or defective parts and components to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently.
* Performs routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
* Ensures all repairs and servicing are completed in compliance with workplace and safety standards.
* Inspects and works with vehicle hydraulic, electrical, and cooling systems as part of maintenance and repair tasks.
Qualifications
* A relevant trade qualification AQF Certificate IV with at least one year of relevant experience. Alternatively, at least three years of full-time relevant experience in lieu of a formal qualification.
* Willingness to learn and keep up with automotive technologies
* Strong problem-solving skills for vehicle faults and repairs
* Excellent attention to detail when inspecting and servicing vehicles
* Electrical diagnostics expertise for vehicle systems
* Proficiency in computer-based vehicle diagnostics
* Valid Driver's Licence (desired)
* Physical stamina
* Strong adherence to safety procedures
* Effective time management
* Strong customer service and communication skills
