Disability Support Worker – Morning Routine (Mount Larcom QLD)
Part-Time / Casual | Early Morning Shifts
With A Little Care is seeking a reliable, energetic, and compassionate Support Worker to assist a young family in Mount Larcom with morning routines for two children.
This is a unique and rewarding role, perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and creating calm, structured starts to the day.
About the Role
You will be supporting two children (ages 6 and 8) in their home during the early morning routine before school.
The focus is on guidance, encouragement, and routine, rather than hands-on care.
Duties include:
✔ Assisting with morning routines (waking, dressing, breakfast)
✔ Preparing simple lunches for school
✔ Keeping the children on track and engaged
✔ Walking them to the bus stop at the end of the road
✔ Creating a calm, positive start to their day
No household cleaning or domestic duties required
About the Participants
* 8-year-old boy with Autism (Level 2) and ADHD
* 6-year-old girl (independent and easy-going)
Both children are capable and independent, but benefit from structure, guidance, and a supportive presence.
Shifts & Hours
* Early mornings: approx. 5:00am – 8:30am
* Rotating roster based on family schedule:
* Week 1: Monday & Tuesday
* Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday
* Week 3: Friday
* Occasional additional shifts may be available
Environment
* Family home on a rural property (dirt road access)
* Must be comfortable around dogs (3 in total – 2 large, 1 small)
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
✔ Reliable and punctual (early starts are essential)
✔ Patient, calm, and able to provide gentle guidance
✔ Energetic and engaging with children
✔ Confident supporting children with Autism/ADHD (or willing to learn)
✔ Easygoing, positive, and enjoys being active
Requirements
* Experience in disability support, childcare, or similar
* Current Driver’s Licence & reliable vehicle
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
* First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
