About the Role
Our Chlor-Alkali manufacturing facility located in Lytton QLD produces Sodium Hypochlorite, Hydrochloric Acid and Caustic Soda for the water treatment industry, swimming pool industry and local industrial customers. We have a dedicated distribution network that services our depots and clients throughout QLD and NSW.
We are seeking a proactive Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team at the Chlor-Alkali plant in Lytton. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on preventative maintenance, takes initiative, and is committed to ensuring equipment reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform and/or coordinate preventative and scheduled maintenance and inspection tasks
* Identify root causes of mechanical issues and implement long-term solutions
* Ensure all work aligns with safety standards, work orders, and technical documentation
* Maintain accurate records including work orders, risk assessments, and safety checks
* Utilization and upkeep of maintenance system MEX
* Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve plant reliability
* Champion a safety-first culture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
* Proven experience in preventative maintenance within industrial environments
* Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in chemical, oil & gas, or mineral processing sector
* Current Class C Queensland driver's licence
* High-Risk Work Licence (desirable)
* A proactive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety
