Job Overview

As the Field Operations Manager, you will lead and support a distributed team of field merchandisers, ensuring operational effectiveness, high‑quality execution, and strong client satisfaction. You'll own the planning, coordination, and performance of field operations while building processes that scale. This is a dynamic leadership role for someone who excels in people management, operational strategy, and real‑time problem‑solving.

What You'll Lead & Manage

* Oversee day‑to‑day operations of field merchandising teams across assigned regions
* Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for all projects
* Conduct regular in‑store visits, field audits, and team coaching sessions
* Travel frequently—including interstate—to support field operations and project launches
* Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for field staff and team members
* Ensure compliance with company standards, brand guidelines, and operational protocols
* Analyze field performance data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities
* Collaborate closely with the National Client Relationship Manager, clients and internal teams to align on project expectations and deliverables
* Lead onboarding, training, and development initiatives to strengthen field capabilities
* Drive process optimisation and implement operational best practices
* Manage budgets, travel planning, and operational costs within set targets
* Address escalations promptly and develop proactive solutions to prevent future issues
* Maintain regular communication with external stakeholders such as Bunnings' Team Members, G4s, Coordinators, Complex Managers, IHG Team Members, Purchasing Officers and Managers
* Conduct performance evaluations and audit team members compliance to call cycles, tasks, and in‑store performance


What You Bring

* 3+ years in merchandising, retail operations, or field team leadership (management experience required)
* Strong leadership presence with proven experience coaching and motivating distributed teams
* Exceptional organisational and project‑management skills
* Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Australia, including overnight trips, regional and interstate areas
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational data and drive action
* Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities
* Proficiency in scheduling systems, field reporting platforms, and Opmetrix, Excel etc
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment with shifting priorities
* A proactive, solution‑oriented approach to challenges
