- The Wakulda System is a world-leading Air Defence C2 System. It is a network-centric ground-based air surveillance and control system, which supports C4ISR capabilities to conduct surveillance and air battlespace management missions. BDA is looking for an experienced Configuration Management Lead to join the Engineering Strategy & Ops team. We are focused on creating Engineering excellence through diversity, culture, and strategic initiatives that will enable the workforce. In this role you will lead a team of Configuration and Data Management specialists to manage all aspects of the program's product definition and design data, technical baselines, engineering changes and current approved configuration to support program execution.
This role is based in Brisbane, Queensland.
As a Configuration Management Lead within BDA, you will perform:
- Lead a team of Configuration and Data management specialists to ensure the program is adhering to its contractual requirements.
- Implement and maintain the Configuration and Data Management plans, processes and procedures, in accordance with standards, regulations, business and contractual requirements.
- Manage the implementation of the Product Lifecycle Management tool for the project.
- Perform lifecycle management of engineering changes including participation in the Configuration Control Boards and acting as release authority for design data.
- Prepare and participate in product technical design reviews and audits as required.
- Lead the alignment of the program's Engineering, Configuration and Data Management processes with the common Boeing processes and practices.
- Lead the continuous improvement of processes for efficiency in accordance with LEAN principles.
- Implement and maintain the controls necessary for data to meet security, trade control and intellectual property requirements.
- Effectively interface with project team members and our customers to support the operation of the platform.
- Develop training on the program's configuration management systems and provide mentoring to the project team.
- Contribute to the Product Lifecycle Management skill stream's Area of Practice and Community of Practice.
About you
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Formal Configuration Management training / certification is desired;
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferable within a related industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of industry configuration management standards such as ANSI/EIA-649, EIA-649_1, MIL-HDBK-61 and EIA-836
- Well-developed communication skills to work collaboratively to a high standard within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Working knowledge of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Configuration Status Accounting Tool
