About the Role
Join our Schools Engagement Team to empower young people across Queensland through education and action on social justice. You'll deliver school programmes, educational workshops and facilitate events for students in the state of Queensland. Be part of a mission‐driven team connecting school communities with Salvos core campaigns and values.
The position is permanent, full time based in Springhill with occasional travel to other Queensland regions a few times per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver impactful school‐based programmes and a range of workshops and resources to schools regarding social justice and the work of The Salvation Army.
- Engage with school communities to build meaningful partnerships and foster awareness of the issues facing young people today.
- Support the development and delivery of campaigns that inspire student engagement and connection with our organisation's mission.
- Assist Salvation Army expressions to better engage with schools and provide divisional schools engagement support and resources to Salvation Army leaders.
- Foster and manage relationships with state educational bodies, predominantly primary and secondary schools.
About You
You are an experienced facilitator or educator with a deep commitment to youth empowerment and social justice. You're a confident communicator who thrives in front of a student audience and values strong school partnerships. You bring creativity, empathy, and energy to everything you do.
Key Capabilities
- Tertiary qualifications in education, communications, youth or community work—or equivalent experience—are essential.
- Confident facilitator with proven experience delivering school workshops and strong knowledge of the education system.
- Skilled in relationship management, you build and maintain meaningful school partnerships with ease.
- A self‐starter, passionate about service learning and social justice.
- Strong admin and communication skills ensure positive stakeholder experiences.
- Organised, collaborative, and committed to team and organisational goals.
