The Role
CAE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Simulator Technician III to join our Perth team. In this critical role, you will maintain the highest standards of simulator performance, support training operations, and mentor junior technicians, contributing to world‐class aviation training in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on simulators and associated systems.
* Conduct preventive maintenance and visual alignments to ensure optimal simulator performance and regulatory compliance.
* Execute and evaluate FAA Approval Test Guide (ATG) and Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.
* Lead and coordinate shift activities in collaboration with technical management, Group Leader, and Maintenance Planner & Controller.
* Provide technical training and mentorship to junior technicians, while overseeing task assignments and shift operations.
* Support engineering teams with design changes, software enhancements, and hardware modifications.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using the maintenance management system.
* Ensure compliance with CAE's quality management system and safety standards.
* Deliver responsive customer service and assist in resolving client concerns.
* Perform logistics functions including parts handling, repair coordination, and validation.
* Make operational decisions in the absence of management to ensure continuity of service.
Qualifications & Experience
* 4‐year technical degree or equivalent related training.
* Minimum of 5 years of direct simulator experience, with at least 3 years relevant to the assigned location.
* Proficiency in using test equipment and software diagnostics on at least one simulator type.
* Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to support hardware modifications and upgrades.
* Demonstrated expertise in at least one major simulator system (e.g., motion, visual, aircraft systems).
* Experience in delivering technical training and mentoring team members.
