About the Role

Capecare is seeking two passionate Lifestyle Team Leaders to inspire and guide a dedicated team of Lifestyle Assistants across both our Busselton and Dunsborough Aged Care facilities. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping meaningful, person-centred experiences for our residents, and ensure Lifestyle services align with Capecare's mission, vision, and values. By collaborating within the care team framework, you'll help deliver holistic, high-quality support that champions resident wellbeing and brings wellness principles to life every day!

Responsibilities

Consumer Care

* In consultation with the Lifestyle Coordinator, other team members, and families, assist clients to express and participate in their lifestyle preferences.
* Coordinate lifestyle team workflow on the floor with the support of the Lifestyle Coordinator.
* Lead lifestyle assistants to work as an effective team and promote individual accountability.
* Assist to orientate and buddy new staff members, providing mentoring, assistance and support.
* Promote a positive attitude and contribute to maintain staff morale.
* In consultation with the Occupational Therapist and the lifestyle team, plan, organise, implement and modify individual and group recreational programs and functions including community access.
* Identify the different levels of ability and interests of clients to maximise participation of all clients.
* Implement specific therapeutic programs under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
* Observe resident's status and report relevant information to appropriate staff.
* Drive Capecare vehicles including the bus to transport clients thereby ensuring ongoing community access for clients.
* As required and directed by Registered Nursing staff, dispense medications during community visits.
* Assist frail and disabled residents with transferring, toileting and meals within the facility and during outings.
* Work with and mentor volunteer staff and students.
* Complete additional professional development requirements as appropriate to the role and as directed by the Lifestyle Coordinator.
* Confidently and appropriately report when standards of care and services are not acceptable, or in conflict with consumers' goals, needs and preferences.

Administration

* Prepare materials, tools and equipment for recreation / therapy programs.
* Maintain stock of activity consumables and supplies, placing orders online or with Lifestyle Coordinator.
* Maintain order of office areas and storage facilities.
* Complete resident attendance records and statistics.
* Actively complete documentation including progress notes, departmental communication and ACFI reporting.

Qualifications

* Experience in a similar role.
* Cert III in Individual Support (Aged Care) – preferred.
* First Aid & CPR – preferred but not essential.
* Rights to work in Australia.
