Ventia has over 35 years of experience working with Defence and has been delivering Firefighting Services for 26 years. With a new contract awarded in 2024 for 6 years and up to two additional 2‑year extensions, now is the time to join Ventia's dedicated Fire Services Team. We are currently seeking a Firefighter to join the Fire and Rescue operations in Nowra.
About the role
This exciting position will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to incidents including airfield, structural and bushfire management.
You will perform duties as directed by the Station & Sub‑Station Officers, including but not limited to:
* Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures.
* Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed.
* Complying with operational health and safety requirements.
* Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness.
* Working on an early/late roster cycle.
Special conditions
To be eligible for this role, you must be able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret). As a result of this requirement, the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen, be able to pass an Australian Federal Police check and successfully pass a CASA Basic Class 2 pre‑employment medical.

About You
You must supply evidence of the following qualifications with your application. (Only complete applications will be assessed). The following minimum qualifications are required:
* PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
* PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
* Hold a current HR driver's licence
