The opportunity
* The Estimating Manager will support the Downer Water business to ensure a safe, sustainable and high standard of Delivery is delivered to our customers. As the senior SME for all Estimating the role is responsible for the guidance, growth and Estimating oversight of multiple Water Programs/Projects (Projects with revenue between $1M to $250M.), Managing embedded Estimating Resources in Programs whilst also working to liaise with the Program Managers/ Deliver Managers from various customers in the water space. What you'll do
* Manage a multidisciplinary Estimating Team within the ANZ region
* Ensure accurate estimates of the total cost of projects are completed on time and in accordance with required technical and company standards
* Leading a team of estimators across Infrastructure Projects bids and tenders. accountability is managing and assisting with the submission and negotiation of tenders in accordance with Downer procedures, systems and governance
* Drive the Strategic Development and Business Planning of the estimating and proposals team in a winning bid
* Provide input to the preparation of operational and capital annual budgets and business plans, in accordance with current Downer requirements (where required)
* Presentation of draft tenders to review panel and participation in tender reviews
* Ensure estimate delivery decisions are made in accordance with business objectives and a full assessment of associated risk

What we're looking for
* Trade qualification desirable
* Highly experienced estimator with a background preferably in water and or civil projects
* Demonstrated ability in proactively build relationships with key stakeholders / team members
* High levels of verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with a wide variety of people
* Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement tender solutions
* To be decisive on business issues, displaying timely and quality decision making, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
* Skilled in relevant estimating software (CCS Candy preferred)
