12 month contract $ 1,100 daily rate Canberra
This is not a BAU support role. We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert to lead high stakes network transformation projects.
You will be the primary technical authority responsible for modernizing enterprise WANs and securing the edge. We need a consultant who doesn't just configure devices but understands the why behind the architecture. If you can explain the packet flow of an SD-WAN overlay interacting with a legacy OSPF underlay while strictly enforcing ISE TrustSec policies, we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities:
* Leading the transition from traditional MPLS/DMVPN to Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela/Catalyst). This includes head end design, policy creation, and TLOC extension strategies.
* Designing complex Cisco ISE deployments. This goes beyond simple RADIUS; we require expertise in Dot1x wired/wireless, Posture Assessment, Profiling, and SGT/SXP (TrustSec) segmentation.
* Manage intricate routing domains using BGP and route redistribution during migration phases to ensure zero downtime.
Requirements:
To be considered, you must demonstrate expert level capability in the following areas.
1. Cisco SD-WAN
* You have performed at least two full-lifecycle SD-WAN migrations (Design -> Deploy -> Cutover).
* Deep understanding of OMP (Overlay Management Protocol), Control Policies, and Data Policies.
* Ability to troubleshoot control connections and data plane formation issues.
2. Identity Services Engine (ISE)
* You view ISE as the heart of network security, not just a AAA server.
* Experience with TACACS+, EAP-TLS, MAB, and BYOD onboarding flows.
* Ability to troubleshoot using TCP Dumps and ISE Live Logs effectively.
3. Routing & Infrastructure
* CCIE-level understanding of BGP (Attributes, Route Reflectors, Path Selection).
* Mastery of the Cisco Enterprise stack: ISR/ASR, Catalyst 9000 (DNA/Catalyst Center experience is a plus).
