Library Management Specialist
The Library Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of library services platforms. This includes configuring, establishing, and managing applications and interfaces that comprise the VGLS Library Services Platform (LSP). Key responsibilities include designing interfaces, generating reports, coordinating upgrades, and testing new functionalities.
Key Accountabilities:
* Maintain and develop the VGLS library service platform and other systems for efficient service delivery.
* Provide leadership and strategic input on library systems, metadata standards, and digital collections.
* Support procurement and contract management activities related to library systems.
* Coordinate digital content across library platforms, ensuring accessibility and branding standards.
* Build relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective reporting and service delivery.
* Plan and coordinate staff training and develop communication programs for users.
* Identify and communicate issues or emerging problems, contributing to solutions.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience in a library environment.
* Experience managing library service platforms, such as SirsiDynix.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills.
* Strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills.
* Recent experience customizing web interfaces using HTML, XML, CSS, and managing web-based search interfaces.
