As part of our Legal Counsel, you'll be involved in the oversight of legal operations and risk management across EssilorLuxottica's extensive retail and wholesale (Professional Solutions) ventures in ANZ. You’ll combine strong legal acumen with a pragmatic, commercially-aware mindset, providing clear, solution-oriented advice that supports the business in achieving its goals while effectively managing risk Requirements for Success Lead and promote robust corporate governance by developing tools, processes, and documentation to support compliance with global and local requirements, including Grants of Authority Drive excellence in governance by advising on regulatory obligations and championing new initiatives to strengthen compliance frameworks Support organisational streamlining through asset and liability transfers and company wind-ups, enabling operational efficiency Deliver strategic legal and commercial risk advice to support sound business decisions and long-term growth. Contribute to successful M&A outcomes by supporting legal due diligence, deal execution, and post-acquisition integration Partner with the Franchising team to ensure compliance with the Franchising Code and support sustainable franchise operations. Provide practical, risk-based advice on marketing, advertising, and campaign activities across traditional, digital, and social media channels Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, manage disputes and litigation matters, and resolve customer complaints effectively Develop and enhance legal templates, processes, and workflows to drive efficiency and consistency Stay ahead of legal and regulatory developments and proactively upskill stakeholders across the business Design and deliver training and compliance tools in key legal areas such as Privacy, Consumer Law (ACL), and Employment Law to protect EssilorLuxottica’s interests Provide legal support on risk and insurance matters, ensuring adequate protection across business operations. Collaborate closely with global legal counterparts on cross-border legal issues and strategic projects Effectively manage external legal counsel, including budget oversight and value-focused engagement Skills & Experience Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or higher, with admission to practice as a Legal Practitioner in Australia. Minimum 4 years post-admission experience, including 3 years in a reputable law firm with a focus on commercial legal matters Strong technical foundation with advanced legal drafting skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of diverse legal matters efficiently and effectively Practical knowledge of the Corporations Act, company secretarial obligations, Australian Competition & Consumer Law, and privacy legislation (highly regarded).
