As a Trades Instructor – Waste Management at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll play an important role supporting rehabilitation through practical trade training. Working within a collaborative industries team, you’ll guide people in custody as they develop waste management skills and safe work practices. You’ll help create a structured and supportive environment that encourages learning, responsibility and positive change. Your work will contribute to safer communities and meaningful reintegration outcomes.
As a Trades Instructor – Waste Management in the Industries team, you’ll make a positive impact by:
Supervising waste management activities and daily work routinesSupporting rehabilitation by developing practical waste management skillsMonitoring behaviour and identifying potential risks or welfare concernsMaintaining safety, security and environmental compliance standardsManaging waste operations equipment, stock and inventory processesCompleting reports on activities, incidents and operational outcomes

Certificate IV in Waste ManagementMinimum 5 years’ experience in waste management operationsCertificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain)Certificate III in Correctional Practice (or willingness to obtain)Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety requirementsStrong communication skills and commitment to rehabilitation
