A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to join their growing business in Sydney.
You will be responsible for materials take-offs and design to allow pricing on preliminary design information including preparing and presenting bid information as part of review and tender presentations. You will then deliver the projects as well.
This role could suit someone coming from a smaller business looking to join a larger business. These projects will be minor works from smaller to $750k and experience with similar projects in these sectors would be an advantage. Projects are located across Sydney. You will be pricing and running circa 3 concurrent projects.
They work across Civil, Infrastructure / Utilities, SMP, Piping, Fuel, Water Infrastructure etc. sectors.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Assemble scope of works and request for tender documentation
* Conduct site visits (remote and interstate sites)
* Conduct commercial, risk and profitability reviews
* Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to team
* Project delivery from inception through to completion
* Ensure construction programmes are followed & deliver on project quality to programme
* Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
* Manage project expenditure and cash flow
* Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects
* Design management
* Manage subcontractors on site
* Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
* Produce progress reports
* Deliver and manage client expectations
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or similar
* Minimum 5 years+ experience in a similar role
* Experience in Bid Management and preparation of tender documentation
* Understanding of Risk Management
* A strong commercial acumen
* Ability to work part of a team as well as autonomously
* High level of organisation and time management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Well‐developed interpersonal skills
* Experience with Microsoft Office suite & MS Project
* Knowledge of planning software
* Construction Safety Induction (white/blue) card
* Driver Licence
* Ability to obtain a clear Police Check
