Job Description
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Underground Mining Engineer to join the team at our Duketon underground operations.
Reporting to the Underground Manager, you'll step into a pivotal on‐site role where you'll lead a talented team of Engineers and collaborate closely with our underground mining contractor, Barminco. You'll play a key part in shaping the future of the operation, providing high‐level technical expertise, driving mine planning and design, and guiding scheduling and costing to help us deliver safe, efficient and innovative underground mining outcomes.
This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster (ex-Perth). 2:2 roster (ex Perth) can also be considered.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
* Lead mine planning & development activities
* Monitoring progress against plan / budget and reporting significant deviations
* Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance
* Overseeing and approving drill and blast plans
* Monitoring, and simulation of, mine ventilation and dewatering network
* Mentor & coach Engineers
* Ensuring development and infrastructure designs are practical and cost effective
* Develop and maintain electronic and other filing systems for mine planning design and construction
* Conduct field leaderships & safety interactions
* Conduct project work as directed by the Underground leadership group as required
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
* Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
* Hold a WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (preferred but no essential)
* Demonstrated underground mining operational experience in an underground hard rock environment
* Advanced MS Excel skills and Deswik capability
