This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position, reporting to the Engineering Manager. You will contribute to projects across Australia and APAC, with travel required for site-based commissioning, including occasional trips of up to three weeks.
If you thrive in a hands‐on engineering environment, enjoy solving complex problems on‐site, and are motivated by working across a diverse portfolio of water treatment projects, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities

* Troubleshoot process issues and optimise plant performance.
* Prepare operational documentation and deliver training to site teams.
* Support process design (PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing and technical documents).
* Assist with project scoping, cost estimates and technical reviews.
* Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
* Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
* Tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia, or working towards it.
* Valid driver's licence and flexibility to travel across Australia and APAC.
* Strong understanding of water or wastewater treatment processes.
* Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting and site‐based engineering.
* Ability to interpret and prepare PFDs, P&IDs and technical documentation.
* Strong communication skills, including operator training and stakeholder engagement.
* Ability to work independently on site with sound problem‐solving skills.
* Competent in preparing technical reports, commissioning plans and operational documentation.
