Finance Project Coordinator - Business Improvement

The Role: As a Finance Project Coordinator - Business Improvement, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager to enhance Group Finance's reporting systems and processes. Your role involves the timely and successful completion of projects and business process improvements, contributing to operational efficiency and strategic goals within our dynamic finance function.

Your New Team: You'll join the dynamic Group Finance team at Auto & General (A&G), a leading and rapidly growing insurer in Australia. Your contributions will directly enhance our financial reporting systems and processes, working collaboratively to drive continuous improvement within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinate business project activities, artefacts and timelines to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
* Identify and monitor opportunities for process improvement and automation within the various areas of the Group Finance Team.
* Identify and facilitate necessary training, process documentation updates and coordination of user acceptance testing for the team.
* Coordinate the prioritisation of projects and business process improvements to ensure development pipeline is always full.
* Assist with creating and updating road maps and other strategic documentation.
* Assist with the coordination of remediation work.
* Assist with the coordination of projects relating to the implementation of new Accounting or Regulatory Standards.
* Contribute to a professional team with results-focused outcomes.
* Provide administrative support to the Senior Manager – Finance Business Improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Proven experience as a project coordinator or similar role.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Excellent project coordination skills, including planning, organising and coordinating resources to achieve project goals.
* Experience in change management and user adoption strategies.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address system-related issues effectively.
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
* Willingness to understand concepts relating to Australian accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
* Relevant undergraduate qualifications in finance, accounting, business or a related field and CA/CPA (desirable)
* Knowledge of finance systems and reporting tools (desirable).
* Financial services industry experience (desirable).
