# Student Services Officer at Education Centre of Australiaby | Mar 30, 2026**Education Centre of Australia**OVERVIEW The Student Services Officer role at the Education Centre of Australia (ECA), based at the University of Tasmania (UTAS) campus in Melbourne, is a full-time position focused on supporting the student experience across the entire student lifecycle. This role sits within a growing higher education partnership and offers the opportunity to build a long-term career within Australia's international education sector. The position is suited to professionals who are motivated, student-focused, and keen to contribute to a compliant, engaging, and supportive campus environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Provide advice to students and complete administrative tasks associated with the student lifecycle – Support of student experience throughout the student lifecycle – Provide advice to students and complete administrative tasks associated with academic services – PRISMS reporting and updates – Support of campus compliance and student retention – Staff and student feedback and engagement – Student communications REQUIREMENTS – Completion of a relevant degree, or completion of a degree with relevant work experience – Relevant work experience in a Student Services Officer or Student Support role – Knowledge of the ESOS Act and National Code of Practice, and specifically how it pertains to the delivery of support to international students – Demonstrated experience in communications – Demonstrated experience in staff and student engagement – Strong team player, able to negotiate and influence outcomes with colleagues – Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with students and staff from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Student Services Officers play a critical role in ensuring that international and domestic students receive accurate advice, timely support, and a positive campus experience. In a regulated environment such as Australian higher education, this role also contributes directly to institutional compliance, student retention, and academic progression. By supporting students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, this position helps institutions meet both their educational mission and their regulatory obligations.
