About the Role
This role provides expert planning advice on complex land use and development proposals that affect Victoria's transport network. It assesses major planning applications, scheme amendments and projects, and works closely with government agencies, specialists and stakeholders to ensure transport needs are properly considered. The role also represents the department in hearings and supports senior leaders with advice and reports. It guides junior staff and helps maintain high standards of work. Success in this role ensures planning decisions support a safe, efficient transport network and well‐coordinated development across Victoria.

Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or equivalent (mandatory).
* At least eight years' experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
Other Position‐specific Requirements
* Drivers license (without any restriction which precludes the incumbent from performing the inherent requirements of the position and which cannot be reasonably accommodated by the Department).
* Required to drive a vehicle.

Relevant pre‐employment screening and reference checks will be required. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position. Re‐employment restrictions apply to recipients of Victorian Public Service (VPS) voluntary departure packages.
