About the Role
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Deputy Principal Engineer (EWIS‐M SPO). This is a long‐term contract role with an initial 12‐month duration, with 1 × 12‐month extension option, located at our client's Russell Offices, Canberra (on‐site).
Responsibilities
* Support the Principal Engineer in delivering engineering governance across Electronic Warfare programs
* Manage and continuously improve the Engineering Management System and associated frameworks
* Prepare quarterly engineering reports and briefings for senior Defence stakeholders
* Provide technical risk advice and engineering guidance to program leadership
* Lead engineering governance activities, including participation in review and configuration control boards
* Support transition to updated seaworthiness and regulatory frameworks
* Engage with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate engineering activities
* Conduct technical investigations and lead assigned engineering tasks
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia or equivalent)
* Eligibility for Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status
* Minimum 8+ years' experience in engineering management or senior engineering roles
* Strong experience in systems engineering within complex or regulated environments
* Demonstrated experience in engineering governance, compliance, and risk management
