Job Description Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Writer to support development and maintain high-quality technical documentation that supports our engineering and maintenance operations.
You will collaborate with subject matter experts to produce clear, accurate, and compliant documentation aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities Develop, author, review, and standardise technical publications, including maintenance manuals, operating procedures, and engineering documentation.
Ensure documentation complies with Australian and international standards and safety principles.
Incorporate engineering design changes and manage document version control.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly content for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct peer reviews and quality checks to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Liaise with engineering, operations, and customer teams to gather requirements and validate content.
Maintain document libraries and support continuous improvement of documentation processes.
Skills Experience 1–5 years experience in technical writing within engineering, rail, or related industries.
Strong ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation.
Familiarity with document control systems and change management processes.
Knowledge of Australian and international standards relevant to rail and engineering documentation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint and technical authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare).
Understanding of safety principles and ability to integrate into documentation.
