A Charlotte-based accounting and tax compliance division of a well-established law firm is seeking a full-time Tax Advisor to join its team. The position focuses on preparing complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. This is a hands-on role that also involves tax planning, compliance, and direct client interaction. Candidates must have 1–3 years of relevant experience and be a CPA or Enrolled Agent candidate. The role offers an outstanding opportunity for a motivated and organized professional looking to grow within a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary income tax returns for review
* Identify and execute tax planning strategies to enhance client outcomes
* Support clients in dealing with the IRS and state tax authorities
* Respond to IRS and North Carolina Department of Revenue notices
* Prepare and electronically file W-2s, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, and 1099-INT
* Maintain and log tax return records
* Provide general support to the tax department as needed
Qualifications:
* 1–3 years of tax compliance experience
* CPA or EA candidate required
* Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance
* Ability to conduct complex tax research and analysis
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
* Experience with ProSystem fx Suite a plus
* Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines efficiently
