About the Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Safety Engineer to join our Test & Commissioning department in the Hunter Class Frigate Program based in Adelaide.
You'll be responsible for supporting safety operational staff, collaborating with engineers and technicians, and delivering key engineering documents to ensure ship systems are set up and tested according to program requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain the Test & Commissioning Safety Plan and associated processes, ensuring alignment with company policies and safety standards.
* Author and review Risk Assessments, Test Forms, and safety documentation related to electrical, welding, and control systems.
* Liaise between the safety team and Set-to-Work team, managing workflows and access in the ePAS Isolations Management and Permit tool.
* Conduct safety audits and assist with isolation task planning.
* Provide training and mentorship on Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) processes and tools.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and production teams, to ensure safety compliance.
About You
We're looking for someone with 3-5 years' industry experience, trade qualifications or tertiary education in a related field, strong problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and planning and coordination skills.
