The Pain Service Transitional / Endorsed Nurse Practitioner is a district-wide MLHD role based within the Pain Management Service, supporting improved continuity of care across the patient journey from Emergency Department presentation through inpatient and outpatient services.

The role functions as a senior clinician within the multidisciplinary pain management team, providing advanced clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and management of acute and chronic pain.

A Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse authorised to practise autonomously and collaboratively in an advanced clinical role.

Criteria:

* Assess and manage acute and chronic pain within scope
* Prescribe, initiate, and interpret diagnostic tests and interventions
* Refer patients to other health professionals as needed
* Evaluate patient outcomes and maintain accurate documentation
* Identify risks and implement safety strategies
* Support referrals, prioritisation, and reporting tasks

About You:

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

* Current authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse / Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with equivalent of three years Fulltime experience in an advanced nursing role within a rural care environment.
* Authority to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or demonstrated evidence of eligibility to obtain authorisation within 2 years. Transitional Nurse Practitioner rate paid at CNC grade 2 rate, until qualification completed.
* An ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team and across acute and community settings.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with proven interpersonal and negotiation skills, inclusive of highly developed skills in computer literacy with word processing and database programs.
* An ability to provide leadership along with extensive expertise in teaching and education and evidence of participation in research and quality activities.
* Evidence of a current Class C drivers licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purposes. This may involve driving long distances within the MLHD.
