About the role
We seek a Principal Planner to join our engaged team of urban development professionals. This role suits a dynamic individual eager to advance their career.
The ideal candidate will have town planning experience in private or public sectors, an outcomes-oriented mindset, excellent client liaison skills, and a team-oriented attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Lead moderate to large projects as a Project Manager, overseeing multiple projects and mentoring others.
Develop long-term client relationships, enhance client experience, and generate repeat business.
Build industry profile, network, and possess substantial urban development experience with current industry knowledge.
Learn to initiate new market opportunities with guidance.
Collaborate across projects and services within our diversified portfolio as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Engage with clients to understand needs, deliver high-quality work, and manage projects of various sizes.
Enhance consultancy and project management skills, understanding relevant policies, legislation, and contemporary issues.
Work alongside economists, urban designers, social planners, project managers, and community engagement professionals to broaden your skillset.
Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualification in Planning or related discipline.
5 to 8+ years of urban planning experience in professional services or government.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with flexibility to handle multiple projects.
Knowledge of the Victorian planning framework.
Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
Strong writing skills for reports and correspondence.
Experience with approvals for residential, commercial, renewable energy, data centers, and infrastructure projects is a plus.
