Account Director – Sydney
This full‐time position in Sydney is designed for an experienced senior leader who will provide counsel to account teams and support the Managing Director and Senior Account Director across all operational aspects of our fast‐growing business. The role combines business development, strategic leadership, financial acumen and creative thinking to drive B2B and corporate communications success.
Responsibilities
* Act as an empowered client strategist, collaborating with teams and inspiring performance.
* Strategically manage and deepen key client relationships, driving revenue growth.
* Support the Managing Director in implementing vision, strategy and business objectives across the agency.
* Provide trusted counsel to senior client contacts, leading and mentoring team members.
* Own a portfolio of clients: budget management, strategy, planning, delivery execution.
* Review client KPIs to guarantee on‐time, on‐budget outcomes.
* Contribute to a positive office culture and mentorship of emerging talent.
* Deliver high‐quality solutions within agreed scope, timeframe and budget.
* Lead strategic development of long‐term campaigns and support upselling of agency services.
* Act as an ambassador for integration, ensuring cohesive service delivery across teams.
* Oversee financial management: revenue targets, servicing levels, forecasting, budget compliance.
* Drive business development with focus on purpose‐driven brands, managing new‐business pipelines and pitches.
* Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating them into communication programs.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 6years of agency experience, with at least 2years in an Australian agency.
* Extensive B2B, corporate, fintech or similar sector expertise.
* Strong communication skills – active listening, persuasive presentation, senior‐level client engagement.
* Excellent problem‐solving, analytical abilities and high emotional intelligence.
* Forward‐thinking creativity and passion for storytelling across media, influencer and stakeholder networks.
* Experience leading projects for brands with diverse communication requirements.
* Independent, courageous thinking and confidence to generate fresh ideas.
* Excellent written communication; proficient in pitches, media releases, case studies and online content.
* Proven mentor for junior team members and ability to foster an upbeat workplace culture.
