Software Development Specialist
Randstad Defence is a part of the Australian Defence Industry. Our defence client seeks software engineers at Army HQ.
The contract opportunity is based in Canberra and includes extensions for 24 months. It's a unique chance to contribute your software engineering skills to a significant program.
Key tasks include maintaining digital repositories, supporting compliance tools, drafting technical documentation, participating in the evolution of technical standards, managing and reviewing standards, providing guidance to Defence stakeholders, offering subject matter expertise, and assisting with test procedures.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in software engineering is required, with a focus on C++. Familiarity with network-based programming, including middleware solutions like OMG DDS and low-level networking using BSD sockets, is also necessary.
Experience working within Defence projects, particularly in producing technical documentation aligned with Defence standards, is essential. Understanding systems engineering practices within Defence contexts and the ability to apply them in software development tasks are also required.
A Software Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent knowledge/experience is necessary.
