The School:
The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) at Monash University is a teaching and research unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and is centred at the Alfred Hospital Campus. It plays a prominent role in public health medicine and works closely with the major Monash affiliated hospitals, research institutes and public health units within Victoria.
The Role:
The primary responsibility of the appointee will be to oversee the management of the HeartPath+ study, funded by the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). This study is a two stage, mixed methods project focussed on secondary prevention patient education. This role will work alongside academics, clinicians, consumers and stakeholders. The appointee will ensure optimal participant assessment, recruitment and retention as well as excellent data collection and management in accordance with Good Clinical Research Practice Standards and adherence to clinical trial protocols.
For both study phases the appointee will be responsible for assisting with ethics applications, overseeing legal agreements contracts and budgets, assisting with publication and report writing.
Key Selection Criteria:
Essential:
* Clinical knowledge in cardiovascular disease and secondary prevention patient education
* Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
* Strong and proven time management skills
* Have good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
* Ability to work independently with other services and departments in the hospital and community
Desirable:
* Experience in coordinating clinical research and trials within Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, specifically in neurology or ophthalmology.
* Proven skills in the management of the activities of a multi-disciplinary team who are engaged in clinical research projects to ensure compliance with protocols and overall clinical objectives.
* Experience using and/or building Redcap databases
* Postgraduate qualification in health and/or management or working towards same
* Experience in digital health projects
