Acute Psychiatric Nurse Position
The Alfred Mental & Addiction Health service is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join their inpatient team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients with acute psychiatric needs.
About the Role
This full-time position involves working on either the 1st Floor Psychiatry or Ground Floor Psychiatry unit, with flexibility to rotate between wards as needed. The successful candidate will have post-registration experience and the necessary training to enable them to work effectively in an acute inpatient setting.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, including risk assessment, mental state assessment, and care planning. They will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective consultation, liaison, and negotiation with patients, carers, family members, and other professionals.

The role requires a rotating shift work roster, with an expectation that the successful candidate can commit to at least 3 months of night duty per year.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Nurse Division 1 or 3. Postgraduate qualifications in nursing are desirable but not essential.
