A growing Australian engineering business is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to help deliver complex industrial projects across Australia and New Zealand.
The company designs and builds advanced recycling and resource recovery plants that transform construction waste into reusable materials. Their systems combine mechanical engineering, fluid processing, water treatment and materials handling technologies to help customers reduce waste and recover valuable resources.
With a strong pipeline of projects and continued expansion, they are seeking someone who can take ownership of engineering design and project delivery from concept through to commissioning.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems while also managing people, timelines and commercial outcomes.
The Role
You will lead the engineering and delivery of complex mechanical projects, ensuring designs are technically sound, projects run smoothly, and outcomes meet both engineering and commercial expectations.
Responsibilities include:
* Mechanical engineering design across steel structures, tanks, piping systems, fluid systems and equipment sizing
* Preparing and approving engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously from design through to delivery
* Overseeing manufacturing quality standards and steel fabrication quality control
* Managing project budgets, financial performance and reporting
* Administering project contracts and ensuring commercial obligations are met
* Supporting tender preparation, proposals and project cost estimates
* Conducting engineering risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies
* Coordinating subcontractors and external service providers
* Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
* Supporting quality, safety and environmental management systems
* Identifying opportunities to improve project delivery, costs and supplier performance
Ideal Background
Experience in process plants or industrial engineering environments will be highly regarded, particularly in sectors such as:
* Mineral processing
* Mining
* Wet processing
* Water treatment
* Dewatering systems
* Environmental remediation
* Materials handling
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or similar
* Experience delivering mechanical engineering projects
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience coordinating subcontractors and site activities
* Strong commercial awareness including budgeting and contract management
* Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
