Literary Agent - Minimum level: Associate
Representing Screenwriters, Playwrights, Composers & Directors for theatre and screen.
LMCM has an opportunity for a Literary or Associate Literary agent with demonstrated strengths and established screen and theatre industry relationships to manage and elevate the ambitions of our writing, directing, and composing clients.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Establishing and maintaining client relationships and strategizing client career plans
2. Reading client materials, giving notes, and crafting pitches for the market
3. Pitching TV and film projects to screen producers
4. Pitching plays to theatre producers
5. Seeking work for clients and pitching them for projects
6. Representing LMCM at industry events as required
7. Drafting and negotiating option, writing, and employment contracts
8. Establishing and maintaining industry relationships, particularly with Theatre and Screen Development executives, managers, Stage and Screen Producers, and Artistic Directors
9. Keeping up to date on industry trends, productions, companies, broadcasters, streamers, and job appointments
10. Client scheduling and invoicing
To thrive in this role, you must be organized, an outstanding communicator, knowledgeable about the screen and theatre industry, skilled in negotiation, proactive, industry-savvy, and an excellent problem solver. Experience working in an agency or production company environment is preferred.
Training starting 19th August, Tuesday - Thursday, for 3 weeks.
Full-time position starting 8th September through to mid-March, with the possibility of extension.
