Curator of First Nations Art
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curator of First Nations Art to contribute to the development of our First Nations Art collection.
About the Role
* Plan, research, develop, and coordinate displays and exhibitions in accordance with departmental requirements.
* Support the growth and development of the NGV Collection, aligning with departmental priorities and Gallery guidelines.
* Undertake administrative duties, including record-keeping, budget management, scheduling, and correspondence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contribute to exhibition planning, research, development, and coordination.
2. Sustain the development of the NGV Collection by supporting the fulfillment of the NGV Collections Strategy.
3. Undertake administrative tasks, including data maintenance, financial administration, and correspondence.
Requirements
* Expertise in First Nations art, supplemented by relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Direct or transferable experience in curatorial practice, exhibition management, publishing, or research within a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in exhibition administration, public programs, or collections management, with a solid understanding of the creative industries.
